Our two cents

Tsunami that hit several coastal villages of India had also hit Pillaichavady, a coastal village at

Pondicherry. Though there weren’t lives lost, people lost their belongings and were griefstricken.

Children had lost their books and stationaries. As a humble gesture of support, we

distributed books and stationaries.

We also realized then that the children were traumatized and needed mental refreshment. So

we conducted refreshing games to cheer them up. There were several volunteers who came

and spent their time and energy and in the process enjoyed giving a great day just not for the

children, but for themselves. Here are a few snapshots of the same.

Jeevitha Anathashrama

It is so unfortunate that some children are deprived of the affection and comfort of a family.

For these children there are lot of good hearted mothers who run a home. Jeevitha

Anathashrama is one of them. This is a very modest home housing 30 children from

underprivileged background orphaned due to unfortunate tragedies in their lives. Sarva Jana

Hitam on its endeavour to contribute its two cents spends some fun time with the children

celebrating occasions with them. To kindle the natural joy in a child and to show that we care,

we sponsor food of the day, and play some fun games with the children.
